New Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has already slipped on one of his often-repeated campaign promises. He, though, says not to worry.
More than a few times on the campaign trail, candidate Michael Nutter vowed to re-open the Office of Arts and Culture that Mayor Street had closed and Nutter vowed to do it on his first day in office:
"Somewhere between the inauguration and the first lunch, I would re-authorize the opening of the Office of Art and Culture. It’s something that's such a no-brainer; it won't take much to do that."
But Day One came and went and no such order came from Nutter:
"We were just a little busy on day one. I did issue three other executive orders on that day. And I think it is still at the top of our agenda. And you'll be hearing more about that shortly."
Which apparently means re-opening the office is simply taking a little more planning than candidate Nutter had expected.
