Yomashei

by KYW's Larry Kane
Produced by Jim Melwert

Yomashei is 14 years old.  She's an outgoing young lady who calls herself an "old soul."  And she points out that she loves to read:

"I like books like A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. I love that book.  Back in the day, how poor they were. But they still kept their family together even though they were poor and didn’t have that much to eat.”

Yomashei also likes modeling and ballet dancing:

“It’s fun -- when you do ballet it’s very relaxing.  You get to stretch out more.  You’re just free.”

Yomashei has big plans for her future.  She hopes to be a forensic investigator:

"I won't get out of school until I'm 30. You have to go to medical school and stuff."

Division of Youth and Family Services teen recruiter Sheena West says Yomashei is quite a young lady:

“She’s beautiful, well-liked, has lots of friends.”

West hopes Yomashei can find a family to help support her dreams:

“To help her to focus on the goals she has in life. She mentioned being a forensic scientist, which she knows is going to be hard work.  So she needs someone that will be able to support her and stand beside her and make sure that she reaches her full potential.”
