Take string, paper, toothpicks, and four pennies, put them together and what do you get? You better get a rolling car if you're a Temple engineering student.
Tension was high as the first year engineering students entered with their vehicles. Benjamin Breuning's group was confident the car would roll down the test track and beat out the competition:
"We went through seven different designs I think, and actually ended up doing this last night. We tried a lot of different things and a lot of different things work at all. When people see it go, it has a little bit of wobble and a little bit of flare."
"Go!"
Some made tore up the test track, others didn't even make it out of the pit:
"The weight of the box seemed to overcome the wheels."
"I think the guys too heavy (laughs)."
"It's moody, I told you, it's a very moody car (laughs)."
But it looked great, and that was worth some points.
