Phila. Police May Have Your Stolen Power Tools

by KYW’s John McDevitt

Philadelphia police have uncovered a warehouse full of stolen power tools and other construction equipment. Now, there will be a public display of these items later this week in order to locate the owners.

Philadelphia police arrested three people earlier this month who allegedly stole tools and other equipment over the course of a year form garages and self storage facilities in South, Southwest and Northeast Philadelphia.

Investigators were led to a warehouse and discovered more than 500 items; jack hammers, generators, and power tools among the stash.

Lieutenant John Walker with Southwest detectives says police will put the items on display later this week:

“On Thursday March 23rd and Friday March 24th between the hours of 12pm-8pm at the Philadelphia’s police department's site at McAllister and Whitaker Streets, there will be a public display of the items where people can come and view the items that we have.”

Bring a picture ID, any police reports of the stolen property, receipts, photos or anything else that can help police determine you’re the rightful owner.
