Now that the city's Human Relations Commission has ruled that Geno's Steak's "English Only" sign is not discriminatory, Mayor Nutter says its time to put the matter to rest.
Mayor Nutter clearly is not wild about the "English Only" sign:
"As a city that's trying to promote itself increasingly as an international city, it may not represent the most forward thinking."
But with the discrimination complaint against Geno's owner Joey Vento dropped, Nutter is hoping the controversy ends.
He says the beauty of America is that everyone has a right to say what they want:
"Its one of the fundamentals of our democracy. So I think we need to move on."
But Vento has demanded an apology from Nutter. To that, the Mayor's response is simple:
"I didn't initiate that action."
