On Easter weekend, a pair of ten-year-old boys is back in the custody of their parents after being charged with taking some holiday baskets from a church in Lansdale, Pa.
Police filed juvenile petitions against the boys this week charging them with theft and trespassing. Police say the boys entered a building at Trinity Lutheran Church on West Main Street in Lansdale and stole some Easter baskets that were intended to brighten the holiday for some local shut-ins.
District Attorney Risa Ferman:
"You know when I first heard about it I was really pretty surprised. This is not the kind of thing we see very often. It’s really distressing that someone would consider taking these kind of things that are designed to help some seniors that need additional help.”
A church official says it was a maintenance man who caught the boys red-handed. They are now under the supervision of the Juvenile Probation Department.
