Plymouth Township (Montgomery County), Pa. police say a teenager has been arrested in connection with two armed robberies in less than a week.
After releasing surveillance from Sunday’s holdup at a Lukoil gas station on Germantown Pike (see related story), police say they got a break in the case.
Detective Jeff McGee says they got a call Monday and arrested 15-year-old Zahir Rembert of Norristown, who is being charged as an adult:
"We had spoken to the suspect’s mother. She identified her son and subsequently turned him in to the Plymouth Township police department.”
The charges include robbery, aggravated assault, and firearms offenses.
According to court documents, Rembert pulled a gun at the Lukoil station on Sunday and at an American gasoline station last Wednesday. Police say he terrorized the employees before fleeing with cash.
Police are also looking into whether he is the person wanted for similar robberies in other communities. He was being held on $250,000 bail.
