A UK-based bus company is rolling into Philadelphia, promising fares to New York City for a low price you may not believe.
Seats on megabus.com are going as low as $1.00, according to the company. You can book your spot up to six months in advance. There is a rerservation fee of 50 cents.
Matt Eggert is the company's operations manger for the east coast:
"The pricing is done on a matrix system, so every bus ride the tickets will start at a dollar and they'll increase based on time of booking and availability. So it's kind of like the airlines. There are dollar seats right now -- every trip is guaranteed to have a certain number of dollar seats."
But you won't be able to get every fare for a dollar. Still, the comapany says it will be cheaper than its competitors. Megabus.com says you will never pay more than $14 each way between Philadelphia and New York City.
Their service starts on May 30th. The company says it will have boarding locations at 30th Street Station and at 6th and Market Streets.
