Mickey Rooney Named Grand Marshal of Ocean City Doo-Dah Parade

Legendary actor Mickey Rooney will be taking part in an Ocean City, NJ tradition next month.

The annual "Doo-Dah" parade is a wacky warm-up to the summer season. This year Mickey Rooney has accepted the honor of grand marshal for the parade.

Rooney is 85 -- and still going strong, says parade publicist Mark Soifer:

"He's still performing. In fact, he's making a movie right now with Robin Williams, Dick Van Dyke, and Ben Stiller."

Soifer says Rooney, star of dozens of comedies, is a perfect fit for the parade, which is a celebration of humor:

"We have unusual paraders, like Alphabet Soup Brigades and Beach Chair Drill Teams and things of that nature. But then we also have bands and impersonators of legendary comedians."

This year's Doo-Dah parade is Saturday, April 22nd.
