The owner of a South Philadelphia steak shop says he is not satisified with the decision of the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations decision to dismiss charges of discrimination against him for that controversial "Speak English" sign (see related story).
Joey Vento (above), owner of Geno's Steaks, says he wants to meet with Mayor Nutter and wants an apology from him.
His chief legal counsel, Shannon Goessling, had another demand:
"We are going to ask City Council to evaluate the legal and consititutional issues that we raised during the hearing so that the Commission on Human Rights, Regulations, and Fair Practices ordinance can be rewritten so that it is not unconstitutional."
She calls the ordinance "vague and arbitrary."
Vento's legal team is giving the city 30 days to respond or risk being hit with a civil suit.
