Hillary Clinton won the battle in the Pennsylvania primary, but the war may prove costly in more ways than one.
Temple University political science professor Michael Hagen (right) says the Clinton victory allows her to raise more money, something the campaign desperately needs, but he sees no clear strategy for her victory.
He says the plan appears to be to extend the campaign and make the case that she's the one who can beat John McCain and withstand Republican attacks.
Yet, Hagen points out, Clinton and Obama are close to evenly matched with legions of dug-in supporters:
"I think there's a real danger here that, no matter what course the Democrats settle on, somebody's going to wind up upset. Obama's backers or Clinton backers are going to be disappointed, and perhaps much worse than disappointed, very upset about the outcome. I think this is a real challenge for the party."
And Professor Hagen is uncertain how it will end.
