Drexel University’s law school opened in the summer and now it will have its first permanent dean.
57-year-old Roger Dennis of Cherry Hill New Jersey will take over as founding Dean of Drexel Law May 1st.
“It's really an opportunity to help an institution shape something new and exciting.”
Dennis spent 26 years at Rutgers University's Camden Campus where he taught law and served as dean for several years. He admits it will be difficult to leave, but the commute across the river will be easy and he's excited to get started. He says he has a lot to tackle when he gets there:
“Listen to everybody whose there now, whose worked enormously hard to get the school off and running, getting ready for the ABA to come in this fall and admit its second class.”
Dennis was offered the job following a year long search by Drexel.
