The FBI has joined the probe of the woman overboard who was lost in the waters off Atlantic City, NJ. The Norwegian Dawn cruise ship on Wednesday was arriving in Bermuda where the feds are picking up the investigation:
The US Coast Guard has suspended the search for a 46-year-old Camden County, NJ woman who apparently fell overboard Sunday night from a cruise ship near the Atlantic City coast.
Mindy Jordan of Clementon, NJ (in family photo above) was aboard the "Norwegian Dawn" cruise ship, which left New York on Sunday en route to Bermuda.
Norwegian Cruise Lines says the woman was on deck nine, attempting to climb from one exterior balcony to another, when she fell overboard.
US Coast Guard spokesman PO Christopher Evanson says that a thorough investigation will take place when the Bahamian-registered ship reaches port:
"We conduct marine casualty investigations without the presumption of finding any criminal activity. It's more of a standard measure because a casualty did occur in international waters, on an international ship, concerning an American citizen."
