Boeing Shuts Down Chinook Production at Delco Plant

A Boeing spokesman says workers are expected to show up Wednesday at the company's Delaware County helicopter plant.

That is to happen as an investiation continues into possible irregularities discovered in two military helicopters.

Rep. Joe Sestak, whose district includes the Ridley Park plant, says he's been briefed on the problem.

Sestak says he was told that wires that appeared to be broken or severed were found in one helicopter and a suspicious washer was found in a second.

Sestak says the assessment is preliminary and he expects that the findings of a more thorough review would be available on Wednesday.

He praised Boeing's handling of the situation, and said it was much too early to speculate on what happened.
