Analysis: Clinton Preparing to Bow Out Gracefully?

Hillary Clinton, buoyed by a trouncing of Barack Obama in Tuesday's West Virginia primary, hopes Democratic super delegates will give her another look.

KYW's Larry Kane reports could Hillary Clinton be negotiating by staying in the Democratic presidential race?

According to Clinton insiders, this is all about a triumphant and powerful exit plan. The Clinton campaign, while publicly denying it, is looking to prove that her numbers show she would be a potent addition to the ticket. The second front is the $20 million political debt that she has.

There is no requirement that the Obama campaign help her to pay it off, but that would be a unifying gesture. Then there is the third way: a bright eyed insiders view of a miracle or a mistake by the other side that would still give her the nomination.

Next up, Oregon where Obama should rock and Kentucky, probably Clinton country.

Also we have learned that a high-level meeting was being held in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday between Clinton and financial co-chairs from the 50 states. Obama, still the frontrunner, was campaigns in Michigan.

Stay tuned. Getting out of the race may be a difficult process.
