Phila. Free Library Hosts Book Fest this Weekend

by KYW’s Karin Phillips

The second annual Philadelphia Book festival is being held this weekend and includes some special events and celebrities.

Barbara Walters and Bernadette Peters are included in the list of top writers at the second annual Philadelphia Book Festival. Former Philadelphia writer, Benjamin Wallace, will discuss his new book, The Billionaire's Vinegar, a historical non-fiction narrative mystery surrounding the world's most expensive bottle of wine:

“In writing it, one of the challenges and goals was to not make it too wine geeky. I really had to be careful not to constantly drop wine names and vintages. I deliberately tried to stay away from that and keep to the story without over simplifying because I also wanted it to be credible for those who do know something about wine.”

There will also be music, children's entertainment, including a parade of storybook characters, and a new gaming gallery for all ages.

For a schedule of events, go to www.freelibrary.org.
