Lights, camera, post-production!
A center city Philadelphia media company on Wednesday unveiled its new $2.5-million digital cinema suite, where even seeing is not believing.
Tucked in a corner of the Curtis Building, at 6th and Walnut Streets, is a digital theatre with few seats but huge potential.
"So this is the screening room here..."
Andy Williams, executive producer of "DIVE" (for Digital Intermediate Visual Effects), points to the 13-foot-wide screen where a scene from an upcoming movie is being color-corrected by a technician:
"He can go into each and every frame and any part of every frame and apply some sort of color correction to it."
Not that every frame needs it, but in this case a Hummer driving in the shadow of a prison wall could use some brightening before it turns into the sunlight.
Williams says the parent company, Shooters Post and Transfer, has been around for more than two decades, but increasing movie production prompted a new division and new facility.
