Reality Show Filmed on Drexel Campus

A new reality show premieres Saturday night. Filmed at Drexel University, called “Back on Campus”, it follows four students going to classes and sharing their dorm room -- with a parent.

The parents are getting a chance to live the college experience they missed out on. One of them, 49-year-old Phil Marino, Sr., a warehouse manager from South Philadelphia, calls everyone “Mo”.

His 20-year-old son, Phil Jr., watches dad peck at a computer, run around campus as the school mascot, get a bit out of control on spring break, and do the "keg stand":

“It’s when we hold you upside down and stick part of the keg in your mouth and you drink from it.”

Charlene Ciccarone of West Chester rooms with daughter, Julie:

“I think a lot of issues were settled. After it was over, we started missing each other and calling each other more.”

Co-executive producer Brian Richardson says they thought the cast was terrific:

“There’s some great story arcs that developed. For some of the parents, it really did change their lives.“

He says parents see what it’s like to be young again and kids may finally understand their parents.
