Pregnant Phila. Woman Dies From Stray Bullet Wound

by KYW's Matt Leon

A pregnant Philadelphia woman who was shot in the head by a stray bullet has died.

Authorities say 26-year-old Bobbi Booker, who was four months pregnant, died along with her fetus early Tuesday morning.

Two men are facing murder charges after they allegedly exchanged gunfire on Sunday night and one of the bullets struck Booker in the head (see previous story).

Philadelphia police captain James Clark says it was around 9:40pm on Sunday when Booker was hit one time in the head by a bullet inside her apartment at 301 Queen Lane in Germantown:

"The shooting was as a result of her boyfriend, who has been identified as a Michael Thomas, exchanging gunfire from the window with another male, who has been identified as a Lamar Johnson, who also was shot and taken to an area hospital."

Capt. Clark says Johnson was shot one time in the leg. Both Thomas and Johnson are now facing several charges including murder. The shotgun allegedly used by Thomas has been recovered. Police were still searching for the gun they believe Johnson used.
