Free Lunchtime Concerts in Center City, All Summer Long

by KYW's Lauren Lipton

Every Wednesday this summer there are lunchtime concerts at different locations in center city. This past Wednesday, Randy Lippincott (right) was at Centre Square -- the "clothespin," 1500 Market St.:

"Philadelphia's my town. We're going to give you a little blues, a little soul, take you on a trip down the Mississippi River. And we're glad to be here."

Laurel Perley is director of marketing and special events for the Center City District:

"It's always a great time to get out at lunch. Bring your lunch outside, watch the people, listen to the music."

Dominick Lanci says it's great:

"To have this little bit of vacation built into your workday, where you can go out and enjoy the people, enjoy  the food, and listen to good music."

Paul and Dennis of Philadelphia agree:

"We're construction workers, putting up the Ritz over there. We're on our lunch hour, enjoying the concert. It's awesome, just awesome."
