The case against a Bucks County elementary school teacher accused of leaving threatening messages at her former school in Warminster is now in the hands of a jury.
Susan Romanyszyn, 46, took the stand in her own defense and adamantly denied that she had anything to do with a series of threatening notes and graffiti that were found at Longstreth Elementary School last October.
Under intense cross-examination she told the court she’s a scapegoat because the district and police needed to solve the crime.
Her friend and fellow teacher Judy Greene believes she’s not guilty:
“I know her, worked with her every day for two years, talked with her every day for two years, and we certainly got to know each other well. And I know who she is and what she’s like.”
The prosecution also says she put a fake bomb in a student’s desk and nails in the parking lot. She faces 17 counts of making terroristic threats.
As for a motive, prosecutors allege she was upset with her classroom assignment for the school year. The defense calls the case circumstantial and says there’s no evidence that links her to the crime.
Romanyszyn has been diagnosed with cancer since her arrest and is now undergoing treatment.
