Police in Doylestown, Pa. say there's a nasty trend targeting car owners. They've caught three kids allegedly doing it and they expect to catch more.
We can't tell you what the kids call it. But let's just say they've turned a really bad insult word into a verb to describe stealing valuables from people who leave their cars unlocked. Doylestown Township police saw two dozen of these incidents in the last five months and recently arrested three teens.
Chief Stephen White says there are probably more young thieves out there:
"I actually believe that the word has spread among st teenagers and young adults that way. Too many people do in fact leave valuable items like laptops and satellite radios and purses and wallets and briefcases and different items of value in their car, unlocked and they can easily trade them for other items such as drugs."
Most of the thefts happened in residential developments. Police say lock your car, take your valuables and report any suspicious activity.
