Film fanatics and sports lovers will unite in Philadelphia this October: the city will host the first-ever U.S. Sports Film Festival.
KYW's own Harry Donahue was the play-by-play announcer in the Vince Papale biopic Invincible (in file photo).
That's one of 50 films to be featured when the U.S. Sports Film Festival debuts here in Philadelphia:
"We'll do Invincible, then hopefully Vince Papale will come up and answer questions."
Mary Hermant is festival director. The festival was original slated for Lake Placid, New York, but she says welcomed the event with open arms:
"Because Philadelphia is such a great sports city, it just convinced us that this would be the best place to put this. And we're really excited."
The sports film festival runs from October 23rd through the 26th. For more information, visit www.lpsportsfilmfest.com
