Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-Bucks County) returned recently from a weeklong tour of Iraq and other Mideast nations.
And Murphy says troops in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities are frustrated with the lack of effort by the Iraqis to take over:
"They are getting frustrated. They feel like it's (the Bill Murray movie) 'Groundhog Day' now, four years later, that the Iraqis continue not to stand up, no matter what we do. Until the Iraqis find the will to stand up for their own country, we could be there forever, and that's not what the American people want and that's not in the national interest of the United States right now."
Murphy says more troops are needed in Afghanistan, which has become a safe haven for the Taliban. And he says the US has to agree to diplomatic talks with Iran and Syria in order to avert any more wars in that region.
