Friday Evenings at the Art Museum: Fun, Food, Art, and Music

by KYW's Lynne Adkins

On Friday nights, the Philadelphia Museum of Art stays open late for "Art After 5."

Producer Sara Moyn says you can start with food and drinks:

"We have a jazz cabaret-style setup. There's servers, a cash bar. In the summer we also have an outdoors bar called 'Martinis,' set up on the portico."

She says patrons also enjoy live jazz in the museum's Great Stair Hall (right):

"It's a really intimate space to hear live performances because the performers are not set back on a stage."

The first Friday of the month features world music or dance, tied to an exhibition, with something for everyone.

"It's really interesting to see families of children, all the way to young professionals and older people, all interacting."
