One of the best-kept secrets in "America's most historic square mile" is opening to the public this fall.
After 10-years, the $20 million project to combine a museum, a library and a conference center will be officially opening on October 3rd.
The Chemical Heritage Foundation's Miriam Schaefer says the idea is to link chemistry to our daily lives:
"None of the stuff of modern life existed until people started messing around with matter. We have cars, we have medicines. We have aspirin. We have Prozac, but you know modern medicine wouldn't be here without chemistry."
And she adds computers are the result of a chemical process which produced silicon chips. And she adds that has revolutionized our lives.
