A West Philadelphia man who posted a video on the Internet encouraging the shooting of Philadelphia police officers has pleaded guilty to a negotiated sentence.
Andre Moore, 45, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to corruption of minors, making terroristic threats, and harassment, for his video posting last June on Youtube, titled "Dissing Philly Cops" (see previous story).
The court accepted the negotiated sentence of 6-23 months of house arrest, with credit of a month and a half for time served. Moore will also be required to serve three years of probation and mental health supervision.
Moore's attorney, Amato Sanita, says it was a fair outcome:
"This is a person that served as a security guard for years. He was always employed. He had a bit of a mental health issue in the past, and it came to light when he made these alleged threats that he truly does not believe."
Assistant district attorney Patrick Link says it will take about two weeks until Moore is released from jail:
"We don't know what his state of mind was when he was making those threats, so he is going to have to go through some mental health treatment if that's necessary."
