Three teenage students in Willingboro have been suspended after the discovery of a live round of ammunition inside the Levitt Middle School Thursday afternoon.
Willingboro Township police say a note was found inside the school early in the day. Around 1:30pm, police found the live round. Police and school officials decided to shut down the school and conduct a search.
As a result of the search, three students were taken into custody and were suspended. A 14-year-old boy from the Pennypack section of Willingboro was charged with prohibited weapons and devices after a live round was found in his possession. A 13-year-old boy from the Buckingham section was charged with obstruction. And a 13-year-old girl from the Buckingham section was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon after police found razor blades in her possession.
All three students have been placed under house arrest. The investigation is continuing.
