An early Saturday morning fire in Philadelphia City Hall damaged a fourth floor office. The cause is under investigation. Lieutenant Michael Grant says a smoke alarm went off a little before 4:30am:
“During the investigation, they discovered smoke on the fourth floor and called for a high rise box, which sends out a full response of engines and ladders and companies to take care of the building and subsequently, they had a major incident response.”
As it turned out, the fire was confined to a fourth floor office. The few employees in the building at that hour evacuated themselves. Lieutenant Grant says the operation was a success:
“We had a quick knockdown. We had no injuries. We're happy about that.
