Chemical Heritage Foundation Museum Opens in Old City

by KYW’s Jim Melwert

A new museum is open in Old City.

The Chemical Heritage Foundation's been around for a quarter-century, but now a new museum, located at 315 Chestnut Street is open to everyone:

"Our mission is to let people know that the thing that you hated in high school is actually very important."

Chemical Heritage Foundation vice president of administration, Mariam Schaeffer:

"Our goal is to have people come in and walk out and say, 'You know, I didn't know that.' I didn't know that computers are a chemical process."

The Chemical Heritage Foundation Museum features unique scientific objects, artwork and rare books. It's open Monday through Friday 10am-4pm, and admission is free.
