Milton Street's Bid for Phila. City Council Continues

Milton Street, the indicted older brother of Mayor Street, has survived challenges to his candidacy for City Council.

Milton Street will appear on the May primary ballot for City Council at large after a judge rejected a challenge of his nominating petitions:

“I survived!  I’m on the ballot.”

Last Friday Street survived a separate challenge about his financial disclosure form.  As to who mounted the challenges:

“You know, you can’t really know who was behind it.  I have a good idea who was behind it, but I’m not going to say.”

But then Milton Street went on to say his nephew Sharif, who is also a candidate for City Council at large, led the challenge.   Uncle Milton said he respects Sharif for fighting, adding that he doesn’t take it personally.
