First-Time Voter Heads to Polls at 87 Years Young

by KYW's Pat Loeb

With a record number of new registrations, a lot of first time voters are going to the polls -- including this very special new voter.

"I believe it's God's purpose, really."

Viola Wilson (in photo above) wasn't sure she'd make it to this day. She's 87 years old and she's been ill this year, but her son-in-law made sure to register her to vote. And her daughter, Charlotte, made sure to get her to the polls.

"My mother was so excited; she said this is history and she is so on to this election."

Viola says she was always too busy to vote; Charlotte suspects she was never motivated. But both are happy this is the election she finally voted in:

"Historical day. This is a big blessing. I'm so happy, y'all made me so happy, make me cry."

Viola's vote moved the entire voting precinct.
