I continue my work with Philadelphia FBI's Squad 10 the violent crimes squad whose focus is armed and bank robberies. I'm part of the team parked in front of a Northeast Philadelphia bank to see if the suspects will return to the scene of the crime.
Philadelphia Police Detective Andrew Adams shares what he knows about this couple the squad has dubbed "Bonnie and Clyde."
"If they're up in the area now, in and out of banks, they are primed to hit right now. You can see the pattern they are setting up between the first two robberies, between how much money they get and how much time goes by."
"You can almost tell the third robbery is going to be on the fourth or fifth day, he adds. "The only problem is you don't know where they are going to hit."
Andy explains the challenges to catching these criminals if they chose to rob this particular bank:
"My theory is they'll park back here, because the tellers won't be able to see a getaway car."
(Michelle): "That person of interest was scoping out this very bank?"
(Andy): "Yesterday. And he was in the bank across the street from here yesterday."
(Michelle): "Now you sit and wait."
(Andy): "The exciting part of the job! Between sitting and waiting and doing the paperwork."
