College football mixes with baseball this weekend when the Temple Owls play Eastern Michigan at Lincoln Financial Field.
Temple University athletic director Bill Bradshaw says the Phillies have agreed to display their World Series trophy for about an hour and a half before the Owls play Eastern Michigan:
"At the Headhouse Plaza we're going to have the Phillie Phanatic and the World Series trophy, so fans can go up and get a closer look at it and maybe have some pictures taken. "
Bradshaw says the Phillies have been wonderful neighbors for a long time:
"From president Dave Montgomery to all the people who work there, they have been just terrific to Temple and Temple football. And this just seemed like a natural thing for our fans to be able to get more up close and personal to one of the great accomplishments of the century."
At the first timeout the trophy will be rolled out to the field. Bradshaw is hoping the hardware will help give a boost to attendance, which he says has avereaged close to 20,000 per game.
