Season's First Snow Makes for Slow, Slippery Commute

KYW Newsradio Team Coverage

Area police were urging drivers to use caution on Friday morning. Roads were snow covered in Chester, Montgomery, and Delaware counties in Pennsylvania, and in Gloucester County  in New Jersey.

KYW's Pat Loeb reports that the snow wasn't sticking right away, but police said it was creating slippery conditions, and it caused a bunch of accidents in the region. They were all reported as minor with no injuries.

In Chester County, Penndot called out its day crews early, to salt the roads. But still, cars were skidding and police warned to leave some extra time in the morning so you could go a little more slowly.

KYW's Brad Segall reports from Montgomery County that he, and many other residents, woke up to a surpirse in the driveway -- windshield wipers frozen to the windshield and car doors frozen shut.

The snow was coming down pretty hard for a while, and it left a coating on sidewalks and streets everywhere. Drivers were moving slowly on their way to work.
