New Airport Security Line Procedures at PHL Airport

by KYW's Paul Kurtz

Perhaps the biggest complaint from airline passengers in this post-9/11 world has been about time spent waiting in lines at airport security checkpoints.

No one, apparently, is complaining about the new nationwide setup that separates passengers into three categories and provides lanes for each: frequent, casual, and special needs -- which includes families with small children.

Residents of the Delaware Valley share their thoughts:

"It's like a great idea. Well, it cuts down the time that you're in line."

"Whatever speeds it up, hopefully."

"It makes a difference. The line's shorter, looks like. Next week will be the test, won't it?  Thanksgiving weekend."

The Transportation Security Administration started this new system here a couple of weeks ago, and will eventually have it running at every airport in America.
