Pa. Website Helps Shoppers Find Hot Gifts

by KYW's Mike DeNardo

A new web site is helping holiday shoppers find those hot, hard-to-find gifts.

The site is www.zoolert.com. It monitors e-commerce merchants for hard-to-find items, and then lets you know when one is available.

Zoolert's Ed Crotty of Yardley, Pa. says, for example, if you're looking for a Wii Fit (in file photo):

"You can go to the Wii Fit tracker page, sit on the Wii Fit tracker page. It'll automatically reload itself and if there is a Wii Fit to be found, there'll be an alert sounding, letting you know that it's in stock. Then you just go to your browser window, go away and purchase it."

The site is free for users. Zoolert makes money by getting a small cut of each sale. Crotty says the site launched in March, and turned a profit in its first month.
