Congressman Bob Brady is surging in a new survey of the Philadelphia mayor’s race, while former front runner Chaka Fattah showed a big drop (see related story).
A rally in Love Park for Bob Brady turned out hundreds of union workers and Brady afterwards resisted the temptation to crow about the survey showing him jumping from last to third:
“Polls don’t vote. People vote.”
Chaka Fattah dropped nine points, putting him second to Tom Knox. Fattah compared his situation to a Muhammed Ali fight:
“They said he’s taking all these blows, he’s up against the ropes. At the end he said, ‘You didn’t understand the strategy. It was a rope a dope strategy, right?’”
The poll showed 21 percent of those surveyed are still undecided.
