Sam Katz – who ran against John Street for mayor in 1999 and 2003 – is sitting out this year’s mayor’s race, but he’s weighing on with a new political blog.
Philadelphia Magazine invited Sam Katz to blog on its website, and Katz started opining on the mayor’s race this week:
“I didn’t really know much about blogs before.”
That does not mean Katz is a technophobe – he carries around a laptop and a PDA:
“I’ve owned a computer since 1983, long before most people did. I was the first person I know who got an email address and was on the Internet.”
Now he’s enjoying observing the 2007 mayor’s race:
“It's helpful to me and I’ve gotten from the first blog some very nice feedback.”
Katz’s prediction for the primary race – it could be decided by just a few thousand votes. His blog is at phillymag.com.
