Pat Loeb

Although Pat Loeb is one of the newest reporters on the KYW Newsradio roster, she is also one of the oldest (in terms of working at KYW).

Pat first joined Newsradio back in 1978, when she was Pat Ford, fresh out of Temple University. She spent three years learning how to cover breaking news, then took her thus acquired skills on the road.

A long career in public radio followed, including four years as a foreign correspondent based in Asia, which gave her the opportunity to cover stories such as coups d'etat, volcano eruptions, earthquakes, and the return of Imelda Marcos to Manila to reclaim her shoes.

A digression into motherhood was punctuated by print work for the Washington Post, the Congressional Quarterly, and the Pew Center for Civic Journalism, among other gigs.

She returned to radio in Los Angeles, as a correspondent for the public radio business show "Marketplace." A move back to her hometown in 2007 also brought her back to KYW, and she is "incredibly grateful for the chance to once again work with the most outstanding broadcast news team in the Delaware Valley -- make that the most outstanding broadcast news team anywhere."

Pat is married to Vernon Loeb, deputy managing editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer, and is the mother of four amazing children: Katie, David, Frances, and Julia.
