Argument Leads to Shooting at Movie Theater

by KYW's Jim Melwert

A man was arrested for shooting another man during a movie at a Philadelphia theater because the man's family was being too loud.

Police say 29-year-old James Cialella of the 1900 block of Hollywood Street was at the United Artist Riverview theater at 1400 S Columbus Boulevard on Christmas night.

Cialella told a man his family was being too loud and then threw popcorn at the man's son.

After the two began fighting, Cialella allegedly pulled a gun and shot the man once in his left arm.

Cialella was still at the theater when police arrived.  He was arrested and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

The victim was taken to Thomas Jefferson Hospital in stable condition.
