Eagles Fans Are Flying High, Too

by KYW's Al Novack

Eagles' fans were flying high on Monday morning, following Sunday's big win against the Giants (see related story).

And as Philadelphians headed to work, many got a nice surprise at the 15th and Market Streets Septa station, in the form of two Eagles cheerleaders and the team mascot "Swoop."

The cheerleaders shook their pompoms and handed out posters and autographs.  Swoop gave out some prizes including Eagles t-shirts and footballs.

Mike Pappelini of Northeast Philadelphia says he's ready to believe in the green now:

"I was born and raised in Philadelphia but I'm a die-hard Steelers fan. As long as it's a Pennsylvania team it doesn't matter.  Hey, they're both good teams and I think the Eagles can do it this year."

One of the loudest fans during the Monday morning rally turned out to be Monty G. (photo above):

"We're doing it!  We're going all the way!  And we're going to the Super Bowl -- that's how it is.  Number one!  Yeah!"

Are you headed to Arizona for next Sunday's game?  KYW's Paul Kurtz would like to hear from you.  Send an e-mail with your name and phone number to kurtz@kyw.com.
