Montco Couple Charged with Gruesome Murder of Father

by KYW's Brad Segall

Authorities say a body dumped in the woods in Atlantic County, New Jersey last month is that of an Abington Township, Pa. man, and now his 22-year-old daughter and her boyfriend are charged with his murder.

Montgomery County prosecutors say Christina Rubin hatched a plot to kill her father Marc after he yelled at her on the phone in late November. They say she solicited her 20-year-old boyfriend Jeffrey Leinheiser who on the day after Thanksgiving put a single bullet into Rubin’s head while he slept in his home at the Colonade Apartments in Jenkintown.

District attorney Risa Ferman says they left the body in the apartment for a week trying to figure out what to do:

"They purchased a chain saw, they purchased carpet, they purchased plastic bags, duct tape and other things that would allow them to be able to conceal this body.”

Investigators used fingerprints to identify the badly decomposing body. A third person has been charged with helping them dispose of Rubin’s body.

Prosecutors say Christina Rubin is a master’s candidate at a local college.
