Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx is in town to film a new movie, Law Abiding Citizen (see related story), and he took a few minutes on Friday to meet -- and impersonate -- Mayor Nutter.
Jamie Foxx, Gerard Butler, and the rest of the cast gathered in the mayor's reception room in City Hall to be greeted by starstruck city workers.
Mayor Nutter said he has another role in mind for Foxx:
"It's a tremendous honor to have the gentleman who will portray me in a movie to be filmed later..."
And Foxx took up the challenge with an impromptu impersonation of the mayor:
(Foxx as Nutter) "I want to thank Jaimie Foxx for coming to Philadelphia, and I just want to say it's just awesome to have you guys here. And I'm not going to fall for the banana in the tailpipe (widespread laughter)."
Foxx may not get any Academy Award nominations for that, but he did snap up a replica of the Liberty Bell.
