Seventeen-year-old Rashon enjoys the same thing most kids his age enjoy:
"Playing basketball and watching sports, movies, going to the mall, and playing video games."
Even though Rashon is approaching adulthood, he still wants to be adopted -- to have a family that cares about him.
(Kane:) "When you think of adoption, is it all about wanting to be home, to go to your own home?"
(Rashon:) "Just to think about somebody that cares for you."
Rashon hopes to go to culinary school so he can become a chef.
(Rashon:) "I love cooking and stuff, so I love being in the kitchen just cooking food."
(Kane:) "What's your favorite food to cook?"
(Rashon:) "The foods that I love to eat, like fried chicken or pancakes."
(Kane:) "Do you want to go to a school to learn how to cook?"
(Rashon:) "Yes, (to learn) how to cook everything, to become one of the top chefs."
(Kane:) "You want to become one of the top chefs in America?"
(Rashon:) "Yes."
Rashon's social worker, Ben Magnussen, says an adopted family would help Rashon reach his dreams:
"Like everyone, we need a little help along the way to get where we need to go, and I think Rashon is serious about becoming a chef. And I think a family would give him the encouragement and the self-esteem to help pursue those goals."
