The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is trying to get the word out about what amounts to its statewide wine club.
The Wine Connection is manager Joseph Via's baby and he says it fills a need:
“Because we are a state controlled agency there are no wine clubs at this point in Pennsylvania. Obviously we're going to use it as an educational tool as well as hopefully people can have fun in the club.”
The Wine Connection has three price levels, from about $30 for two bottles to $50-$75 for two pricier offerings, red, white or mixed.
You can order monthly or every other month, with the bottles delivered to a nearby state store.
The Wine Connection also puts out nine versions of a newsletter, covering each combination of orders, featuring articles on those particular wines, their country of origin and serving suggestions.
