Phila. Matchmakers Tell You How to Find Love
|
by KYW's Hadas Kuznits
The stars of the new VH1 dating reality show "Tough Love" are Philadelphia-based matchmakers.
Steve Ward with Master Matchmakers admits it's not easy to date when men and women follow different rules:
"The rules have changed. Now its both person's responsibility to be positive, to approach the other person, to communicate how you feel and to not be so shy about it!"
Ward hosts the program with his mother, JoAnn (pictured above).
Steve says you can meet people anywhere:
"Grocery stores are a great place to meet people."
(Kuznits:) "How would you start a conversation in a grocery store?"
"Paper or plastic? Nice melons!"
(Kuznits:) "Break the ice."
"Something funny, something cute: 'shopping for one, or shopping for two?'"
And once you make positive contact, he says don't mess it up:
"Stop worrying about your schedule and them accommodating you and them making your life easier. It's not about you -- it's about the other person. The sooner you realize that, the sooner you'll find love. That's what love is, thinking of someone first before yourself. And you should start from the very first date."
