Eleven-year-old Troy is your typical fifth grader:
“I play video games and go outside and play football. But I’d like to scuba dive.”
Troy says he gets As and Bs on his reports cards, and he lists math as his favorite subject:
“I like doing geometry.”
Troy also enjoys reading. He says mystery novels are his favorite:
“And books about ghosts. True stories about ghosts, not made up ones.”
Troy wants to be a scientist when he grows up:
“Well, not really a scientist but someone who works with animals.”
In fact, Troy like animals so much that if he a day where he could do anything he wanted to do, he'd spend the entire day at the zoo:
“I’d go see animals. Every animal possible in one day.”
Troy’s social worker, Mimi Kirk, says Troy has a great sense of humor and would be best suited for an active family:
“He doesn’t want to be called pampery names any more like ‘sweety’ or ‘honey’ or any of that stuff. But I think that’s part of being 11 going on 12. He likes animals, so it would be nice to have a dog, maybe."
(Troy:) "Any kind of animal."
