Home chocolate parties are becoming more popular, and those hosting a gathering are finding it's a sweet deal when it comes to making some extra cash.
Hosts of chocolate parties receive discounts and free goodies. The "chocolatiers," showing off the latest products, receive a commission on sales anywhere from 25 to 40 percent.
Amy Hollowell of Phoenixville, Pa. is an independent chocolatier with Dove Chocolate Discoveries. She hosts parties and trains wannabe chocolatiers all over the country:
"It works just like a Tupperware party, only we feed our guests chocolate while we are talking about how to make easy desserts and easy treats. We might sample things like chocolate martinis. We have pre-made items. We have easy-to-make chocolate mousse."
