It's the time of year when we're all working on our game, and one way to improve is to get up close and watch the world's best in action.
Jim Furyk and friends will hold the Exelon Invitational on June 8th at the Ace Club -- the final round before the event takes at least a two-year break so as not to compete with Tiger Woods' tourney when it moves to Aronimink.
Paul Casey, Anthony Kim, and Kenny Perry round out the Exelon field this year.
Later that week, the LPGA Championship gets under way at Bulle Rock.
July 9th to 12th, the ladies return to the region for the US Women's Open at Saucon Valley.
Finally, the second week in September, Buddy Marucci (above) captains the US team against the best amateurs from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales in the Walker Cup Matches at Marucci's home club, Merion:
"You want to do your best at home, and it means a great deal to me to be here doing it, especially at Merion, which I consider home. I think it's going to be a challenge, and I'm looking forward to it."
Golfers have quite a bit to look forward to in 2009!
And last but not least, we're preparing a brand-new season of "Golfshots," starting in June on Comcast Sportsnet. Stay tuned!
